DeKUT Hosts the WorldSkills National Competition 2024

The WorldSkills National Competition 2024 was successfully hosted at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT), bringing together the brightest minds in Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering Computer-Aided Design (CAD). This prestigious event highlighted the importance of fostering critical skills among the youth, industries, government, and educational institutions. The competition created a unique platform to unite stakeholders in a collaborative effort to nurture the talent that will shape the future of our nation.

 

DeKUT's unwavering commitment to cultivating an environment where talent is identified and developed was a pivotal factor in the WorldSkills National Competition 2024 success. More than just a talent search, the competition recognized participants with diverse skill sets essential for driving innovation and progress. The event was a clear testament to the University's dedication to enhancing educational experiences and preparing the youth for the dynamic world of technology and engineering.

 

DeKUT proudly celebrated the victory of Joshua Nyandwaki and Ray Wekesa, who secured Gold in the Mechatronics category. Silver was awarded to Andrew Juma and Frankline Owiye from Kiambu National Polytechnic, while Kinoti Mutugi Marvin and Felix Mugira from Mukiria Technical and Training Institute earned third place.The Mechanical Engineering CAD category also saw impressive performances. Mulwa Amos Sila from DeKUT clinched the Gold medal, with Julia Wambui Kamau from Kisii National Polytechnic taking home the Silver medal.These participants' success reflects their dedication and the bright future that awaits them in their respective fields. DeKUT remains honoured to have hosted this remarkable event and looks forward to witnessing the continued achievements of these talented individuals.
