DeKUT participates in the 41st EARSeL Conference
International conferences provide platforms through which researchers from various institutions worldwide share the output of their research work. Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) participated in the 41st EARSeL Conference held in Paphos, Cyprus, from 13th to 16th September 2022. The conference theme was "Earth Observation for Environmental Monitoring". It was organized by the European Association of Remote Sensing Laboratories (EARSeL) in conjunction with the Erastothenes Centre of Excellence in Paphos.
The Remote Sensing Research Group (RSRG) team from the Institute of Geomatics, GIS and Remote Sensing (IGGReS) presented the first results from the CITGI4 Muringato project at the conference. The results were contained in two oral presentations titled "Characterizing the Changes in Land Use and Land Cover amid Changing Climatic Conditions using Remote Sensing Techniques in the Muringato Basin, Kenya" by Mr. Simon Wachira and "Assessing The Effectiveness of Participatory GIS Tool for Environmental Conservation of the Muringato Catchment Area." By Mr. Wisdom Kipkemboi.
The CITGI4Muringato project is a BMBF-funded project in collaboration with the Ruhr University Bochum.
